SOMERSET, N.J. – Sacred Heart women's cross country first-year Kayla Grant was named the Northeast Conference's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. Grant made waves in her debut as a Pioneer, crossing the line with a time of 15:50.10 to rank third on the team and 15th out of 64 runners at the Stony Brook Invitational. This was good enough for the highest-finisher among all NEC first-years across all competitions.
SHU is back in action this weekend with a trip to Amherst for the UMass Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
