FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Joey Henley scored a season-high 24 points and Sacred Heart beat St. Francis 103-91, Saturday in the Northeast Conference.
Sacred Heart (5-5, 2-0 NEC), jumped out to a 26-point lead in the first half.
Henley, a junior forward who missed last season with an ankle injury, hit 9 of 10 shots as the Pioneers shot 62.9 percent from the floor (39-of-62). Jarrid Frye added 15 points and Chauncey Hardy had 14 for Sacred Heart.
Cale Nelson led St. Francis (3-5, 1-1) with a career-high 22 points and Chris Berry had 13.
Sacred Heart never trailed. The Pioneers opened a 9-2 lead and then used a 29-5 spurt to grab a 40-14 advantage.
St. Francis cut the margin to 51-36 at halftime and trailed by as few as nine before Sacred Hearts 14-3 run gave the Pioneers a safe 84-62 lead with 7:24 left to play.
The Pioneers are 4-0 at home this season.
