Box Score

Hamden, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's soccer team defeated the Quinnipiac Bobcats 1-0 Tuesday afternoon, moving one step closer to securing a spot in the NEC tournament. The Pioneers improve to 8-8-1 on the season and 5-3-1 in the NEC to jump to fourth place in the NEC standings.

Freshman forward Dana Cosmedy (Monroe, CT) scored her fourth goal of the season and senior goalkeeper Sydney Judkins (South Park, PA) earned her fourth shut-out to give the Pioneers a crucial NEC victory. Cosmedy scored in the 49th minute off an assist by senior defender Lia Palmacci (Groton, MA). Judkins made three saves on the afternoon in a game that was originally scheduled for last Friday afternoon but was postponed due to rain.

The Pioneers close out their regular season on Sunday at Central Connecticut. If the Pioneers beat the Blue Devils they will earn a spot in the NEC tournament that will be played on November 2 and 4th.
