Pioneers open NEC play with a 1-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson

Teaneck, NJ. – The Sacred Heart women's soccer team began conference play on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 victory of Fairleigh Dickinson. Senior forward Mikaela Wolf (Northport, NY) put in a header in the tenth minute to give Sacred Heart the only goal of the game. The header came off a corner kick by sophomore mid-fielder Kristin Verrette (Saugus, MA).

Sacred Heart outshot the knights 6-4, with 4 of those shots being on goal. Senior goalkeeper Sydney Judkins (South Park, PA) records her first shut-out of the season, notching three saves.

 The Pioneers improve to 6-3 (1-0) on the season, while the Knights fall to 3-5-3 (0-2). The Pioneers will next be in action on Friday September 28th when they host Wagner at 7 PM on Campus field.
