Pioneers Shut Out by Yale

New Haven, Conn.—The Sacred Heart Women's Soccer Team was shut out by Yale 3-0 Tuesday evening. With the loss, the Pioneers' record drops to 2-3.

Sacred Heart outshot the Bulldogs 6-2 in the first half, but was unable to score. Yale received the only goal of the half on a SHU own-goal in the 19th minute of the game.

The Bulldogs recorded two more goals in the latter half of the game. Melissa Gavin got the rebound off the par post and sailed it past Talia Schwartz. Eleven minutes later, Muriel Battaglia headed Frannie Coxe's corner kick in for Yale's third and final goal of the game. 

The Pioneers take to the field next Friday, September 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Cornell.
