Box Score

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Sacred Heart women's soccer team scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation to force overtime against the Brown Bears at Stevenson Field Wednesday night, but it was the Bears that won the game 3-2.

Brown (3-4-0) scored first in the 24th minute. Charlotte Beach chipped a ball over the Sacred Heart (3-6-0) defense to Erin Katz, who scored from inside the 18-yard box to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.  Brown extended the lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute when Katz headed in a cross from Sydney Calas.

The Pioneers closed the deficit to one in the 80th minute. Lindsay Corallo headed in an Emily Montgomery free kick to make the score 2-1.  With 1:49 remaining in regulation, Dana Cosmedy tied the game at two. The senior midfielder found a loose ball in the box and fired it home to level the game and force overtime. Sacred Heart had the first shot in overtime, but Alex Mesropyan's attempt to win the game was blocked. In the 94th minute Katz finished off her hat trick with the game-winning goal, heading in a cross from Jillian DeSimone to give Brown the 3-2 win.
