How It Happened:
First Half:
- Broome put the first point on the board going one-for-two from the free throw line before Yunis Hopkinson sparked a six-point run for the Terriers. Broome landed a trey in hopes of halting the streak, but SFBK answered with seven straight points from Hopkinson and Amdy Fall expanding the Terriers' lead to nine points, 13-4, before the 14:49 media timeout
- The break didn't slow down the Terriers' offense, who scored eight straight points coming out of the break before Quincy McKnight (Bridgeport, Conn.) ended a nearly six-minute SHU scoring drought finding the lane for the layup. Buovac added two more for SHU before Jewell and Kean Williams stunted the Pioneers' run combining for three points
- Eyimofe Edukugho (Warri, Nigeria) and Sean Hoehn (Morristown, N.J.) answered with three for the Pioneers cutting into SFBK's lead, 22-11, just under halfway through the first half
- The Terriers continued to expand their lead throughout the first half, never allowing SHU more than one basket at a time, to go into halftime up 41-18
Second Half:
- After Jordan Allen (Bayshore, N.Y.) opened second-half scoring, Jewell went two-for-two from the charity stripe kick-starting a nine-point streak for the Terriers, who took their largest lead of the game, 30 points 50-20, on Amdy Fall's layup before the 14:54 media timeout
- Buovac tried to get something going for the Pioneers putting up five straight points, but SFBK answered with a 6-1 run as Hopkinson drained a three right before the 11:16 media for a 57-28 Terrier lead
- With 8:11 remaining in the game, McKnight sparked an 11-2 SHU run with four straight points, that cut SFBK's lead to 20 points, 67-47, with Broome's triple with 6:13 left
- The Pioneers chipped away with another 11-4 streak, but were unable to get within 15 points of St. Francis Brooklyn
