Box Score FAIRFIELD CONN.- The Sacred Heart Pioneers continue to display their dominance in the NEC conference extending their win streak to seven. After defeating Saint Francis U, the Pioneers are now 3-0 in Conference, and 10-6 overall.
SET 1- The Pioneers got off to a quick start as they jumped to an early 7-4 lead. The Red Flashes took a timeout that worked to their advantage pulling the match within 2. As the score was tied 17-17 freshman standout
Liisel Nelis gave the pioneers back-to-back service aces putting the Pioneers ahead. The Red Flashes couldn't answer Nelis's stellar serving and ended with a score with 25-20.
SET 2- The second set was all SHU. Lead by seniors
Sarah Krufka who added 4 kills and
Ana Gonzalez who tallied 5 digs the Pio's managed to win the second set by a margin of 25-19.
SET 3- Ana Gonzalez helped the Pioneers sweep the Red Flashes, with her two service aces, and six digs in the third set. The Pioneers ended the day with six total aces. Similar to the first two sets the Pioneers grooved by the Flashes with a 25-17 victory.
