Box Score PISCATAWAY, NJ – On both ends of the court, Rutgers University was too much for the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team. The Scarlet Knights jumped out to an early lead on their way to a 99-30 decision over the Pioneers on Sunday.

Rutgers' defense was too much for the Pioneers to handle as the visitors committed 32 turnovers, which resulted in 48 points. Sacred Heart was limited to 16.7 percent shooting. Rutgers also had a 45-27 rebounding advantage.
Rookie Kelsey Wood's layup made it a 5-5 game at the 6:35 mark of the first quarter. Unfortunately, Tiffany Hammond's basket with 39 seconds left in the opening frame was SHU's only other points as the Scarlet Knights went on a 20-0 run and took a 27-7 lead.
Topping the Pioneers in the scoring column was sophomore Sonia Smith with seven points. Wood was next with six points and a season-high eight rebounds.
