BROOKLYN, N.Y..— The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team gave the defending Northeast Conference Champion St. Francis Brooklyn all it could handle on Thursday. The Pioneers came up short against the Terriers, 1-0.
Sacred Heart dropped to 2-8-3 overall and 2-2-1 in
conference play while St. Francis Brooklyn improved to 6-4-1 and 4-1 against NEC foes.
Seiji Mastuda scored the lone goal for the Terriers off the assist from Sokol Ymeraj at 75:47. SFBK had a 22-6 advantage in shots.
Segundo Navarro took five shots, including two on target.
Olliver Persson was the only other Pioneer to attempt a shot.
Jack Pincus-Coyle made his first start of the season in goal and made six saves.
Sacred Heart travels to Bryant on Sunday at 12 p.m.
