SHELTON, Conn. — Despite a season-high 28 blocks, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team dropped a 7-0 contest at home against Yale on Saturday.
The Bulldogs led off with its first goal of the night to score the eventual game-winning goal 3:30 minutes into the first period. Yale continued to connect with the net six more times, including one off a power play.
Kennedy Spiering and
Erin Fleming accounted for almost half the blocks for career-highs of seven and six, respectively.
Carly Greene grabbed a career-high 32 saves for her first year in the box for the Red & White.
SHU hits the road to face in-state NEWHA rival Post on Friday at 4 p.m. before a three-game home stretch.
