FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team kicked off the 2021-22 season this weekend when they hosted the SHU Bowl For The Cure Invitational. The Pioneers went, 1-4, on day one and, 4-1, on day two.
SHU played five traditional rounds on the first day of the tournament against Adelphi, Monmouth, Caldwell, and Molloy.
During the first day, the Pioneers posted narrow losses to Molloy (858-847), Adelphi (935-923), Caldwell (985-951), and again against Adelphi (950-800). Sacred Heart did come out victorious against Monmouth, 1,005-919, for the lone win of the day.
In day two, the Pioneers competed in five baker matchups and only dropped one round to Adelphi, 1,007-966, but grabbed wins over Caldwell (888-851), St. Francis Brooklyn (996-889), Felician (975-820), and LIU (913-845).
