DEPTFORD, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team claimed the win at the shortened Bud Whitman Memorial, going 5-0 in traditional matches and finishing with the highest cumulative pin total.
The No. 11-ranked Pioneers topped a 10-team field with 4,709 pins and a 188.4 average. The field also featured ranked programs No. 17 FDU anf No. 22 Felician. Dominican took second place with a 4-1 record and a 175.7 pin average.
After a dominant performance on the lanes, four Pioneers made the Bud Whitman Memorial All-Tournament Team.
Madilyn Yockel led the team and was second in the tournament among bowlers who took part in four games, finishing with a 194.0 average.
Megan Prettyman (193.2) and
Emma Jones (192.0) finished right behind eachother in third and fourth on the player rankings.
Karleigh LeMond (188.4) was the final Pioneer on the All-Tournament Team with a 188.4 average, which ranked seventh in the field.
The Pioneers hit the lanes again on Friday, Oct. 17, for the first of three days at Youngstown State's Penguin Classic in Struthers, Ohio.
