FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 11 ranked Sacred Heart University women's bowling team placed fourth at the challenging Bulldog Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech this weekend at the Cityview Lanes Fort Worth, Texas.
The Pioneers finished 5-5 over the first two days of the event, with just one of the losses coming to a team not ranked in the top 10 in the country. Of their wins, SHU defeated No. 5 Wichita State twice and No. 6 Arkansas State.
Sacred Heart also collected wins over Jackson State, Florida A&M and Texas Southern. The Pios' losses came against No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 8 Sam Houston and No. 9 Louisiana Tech.
Sophomore
Grace Macak was named the tournament MVP and made the All-Tournament Team after an outstanding weekend. Macak led all bowlers with 1,198 and a 239.60 average over the five traditional games.
Morgan LiCausi was next on the team with a 201.40 average.
Madilyn Yockel played four games and averaged 202.00 pins.
The Pioneers are back in action at the Bearcat Invitational on Friday-Sunday, Nov. 14-16 at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill.
