STORRS, Conn. — In the first game of the Nutmeg Classic, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team dropped a 6-1 contest against the host school UConn on Friday.
UConn scored two goals in the first period to take the quick, 2-0, lead over the Pioneers.
Samantha Ostrowski tallied the lone goal for the visitors 2 and a half minutes into the second for her first career goal.
The Huskies built a cushion with three in the second and one in the final period for the 6-1 win.

Carly Greene spilt time in the cage for a combined 35 saves.
The home team outshot SHU 32-9 through three periods with four coming off the stick of co-captain
Kelly Solak.
The Red & White will play the losers of game two against Quinnipiac and Yale tomorrow at 3 p.m.
