HARTFORD, Conn. – Riding the momentum from a big win last Saturday against Fairfield, the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team took on Dartmouth Friday in the first day of the Hartford Invitational. The Pioneers handed the Big Green their first loss of the year, 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 25-12).

Of Note:
Both teams were evenly matched with Sacred Heart's ability to fair better on the attack making the difference. The Pioneers hit .287, including .438 in the first set, while limiting Dartmouth to .162.

Sacred Heart built a 19-13 lead on a
Jasmine Rogers kill, but the Big Green got within 21-18. A
Reghan Palanchi kill and block stopped the momentum and gave SHU the set.

Set three was knotted at 21-21 before the Pioneers got back-to-back kills from
Kate Anderson and Ciszek plus a Dartmouth error. SHU cruised to the fourth set with a 9-2 run that included six Dartmouth errors.

Leading all players was
Olivia Fairchild with 18 kills and an impressive .533 hitting percentage. Rogers posted a 10-kill, 13-dig double-double and
Dominique Felix just missed one with 11 kills and nine digs.
