FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After losing to in-state rival Central Connecticut State on Friday, the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team got back into the win column on Sunday. The Pioneers cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) over Hartford.

Sacred Heart's offense was too much for the Hawks as the Pioneers hit a season-best .350 while limiting the Hawks to a .097 rate. SHU also doubled up Hartford in the blocks department, 8-4.
The third set was the only close stanza as SHU allowed the Hawks to come back from a 7-1 deficit to tie the set at 11-11. A pair of
Brooke Jeffrey kills helped spark a 5-1 run as the Pioneers pulled away for the victory.
A trio of Pioneers notched nine or more kills, topped by a match-high 12 from the rookie Jeffrey.
Kate Anderson was next with 11 while
Jasmine Rogers posted nine kills and 11 digs. Setter
Sarah Ciszek produced 32 assists, seven digs and six winners.
