EASTON, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to 11 matches on Saturday. The Pioneers topped Stonehill 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21) and in the process won the regular season Northeast Conference Championship.

Sacred Heart's win, coupled with FDU's loss at LIU, gives the Pioneers a three-match lead in the standings with only two matches to play. SHU will host the NEC Tournament, November 18-19 at the Pitt Center.

The 11-match winning streak is the best run by the Pioneers since the 2010 squad won a school record 20-straight.

Sacred Heart limited the Skyhawks to a .176 hitting percentage – thanks to 46-35 digs margin – while hitting .281 itself.

Sarah Ciszek dished out 39 assists as five different Pioneers had eight or more kills.
Jasmine Rogers topped all players with 12 kills while Camryn Luginbuhl added 11. Middle blocker Reghan Planchi hit .563 with 10 kills and six blocks.

Stonehill got within 20-19 in the second set, but SHU closed on a 5-1 run that featured three SC errors and two Palanchi kills. The Pioneers left a 22-19 lead slip away in the third set and the Skyhawks stayed alive thanks to a 6-1 run.

SHU was on its way to running away with the fourth set, establishing an 18-9 lead before the hosts rattled off six-straight points. Kills by Rogers and Brooke Jeffrey ended the match.
