Raheem Solomon led three Pioneers in double figures as Sacred Heart men's basketball fell to Pitt, 91-66, on Saturday afternoon at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Panthers opened the game with a 9-0 run through the first few minutes. Solomon got the Pioneers on the board with a three-pointer at 16:46 to make it 9-3. Pitt would score the following three points before a 14-2 run for the Pioneers, led by Carpenter with three consecutive layups and Solomon with six points.
Dominic Mello knocked down a three to tie the game at 12, before Solomon closed the run for an 18-14 lead with 10:38 left in the first half.
Neither team led by more than five points and, the game saw five ties throughout the last 10 minutes of the first half. At 2:57, Solomon made two free throws to take a 33-32 lead, but the Panthers answered with an 8-2 run to close out the half with a 41-36 advantage.
In the second half, the Pioneers were within two, thanks to two Solomon free throws at 14:31, 54-52, but the Panthers outscored the Pioneers 50-30 in the second half and held Sacred Heart scoreless through the final 6:30 of the game to take the 99-66 final. Â
