EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Sacred Heart University women's hockey hit the road Friday night to take on the Sharks of LIU, losing 2-0.
The Pioneers fell behind 1-0 from a Shark goal 3:42 into the first period. LIU controlled most of the game flow after the early goal, outshooting SHU 34-18 before grabbing an empty net goal with 20 seconds left in the game to seal the victory.
Carly Greene made her 11th start in net, stopping 32 of 33 shots.
Sacred Heart goes to 6-12-1 on the year and 6-6-1 in NEWHA action. The Pioneers will play their next pair of games on the road as they'll travel to Colchester, Vermont, to square off against Saint Michael's College for their last games before the turn of the new year.
