SMITHFIELD, R.I.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team was unable to stop Bryant's offense on Friday night. The Bulldogs were too much as the Pioneers fell, 67-47.

In the first quarter, Bryant outscored Sacred Heart, 21-9, holding the Pioneers to just 25.0% (4-16) in shooting. Sacred Heart won the scoring battle, 15-13, in the second quarter, but Bryant was able to take a 32-24 lead into the half.
The shooting troubles continued for SHU coming out of the locker room as it shot 33.3% (9-27) from the field in the second half.
Bryant shot 45.7% (21-46) compared to the Sacred Heart 34.8% (16-46) from the field. The Pioneers had trouble from behind the arc as they shot just two-of-10, compared to the Bulldogs who shot eight-for-13 from three. In addition, 15 of Bryant's points came from the stripe. Bryant took advantage of SHU's outside shooting woes and grabbed 42 rebounds, while holding SHU to 36.
Olivia Tucker led SHU with 12 points and the only two threes of the night, while
Carly Stroemel finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
