WELLESLEY, Mass. — The foil threesome went undefeated for the Sacred Heart University men's fencing team at the second Northeast Fencing Conference meet. Through four rounds, the Red & White foil crew only lost two bouts against Vassar in round three on Saturday.
Petar Janicijevic Agatonovic didn't lose a single bout in the foil for a perfect 12-0 record.
Tomas Koeck and
Jacob Bartel also contributed to the undefeated record as they both went 11-1.
The young saber squad delivered three wins in rounds one, two and five for the Pioneers.
Domenic Bartolo denied an opposing point in the three victorious rounds against Dartmouth, Boston University and UMass. Alongside the sophomore,
Vijay Ganta captured a 3-0 bout record in the first and second rounds, while
Mateo Villarreal added to the Terriers shutout and a 2-1 record against the Big Green and Minutemen.
In the epee,
Cameron Silver kept the BU and UMass off the board with a 3-0 record.
Jeffrey Palma went undefeated in the epee to record half the victory points in round one.
For the final meet of the season, Sacred Heart travels to Columbia on February 16.
