Northampton, Mass. – It was an all Sacred Heart final in Saber as Tolga Aslan and Oliver Lindholm went head-to-head to finish first and second, respectively, leading the Pioneers men's fencing team at The Big One hosted by Smith College.
Aslan and Lindholm weren't the only Pioneers to excel in Saber as a Andrew Boulais was also a trophy finalist with an eighth-place finish, all three of which part of a field of 80 in the event.
Another three trophy finishes followed in the Foil with Chaissen Costelo leading the way with a third-place finish. Alexander Ligos and David Belluomo followed with seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively, among a field of 75. Rounding out the Pioneers leaders was Declan McAdoo who had a trophy showing in the Epee where he finished fifth overall among 85 total entries.
The men's fencing team will continue its early season action next weekend when they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the Vassar Invitational on Sunday, November 9.
