NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team was on both ends of a sweep during Saturday's day two of the Yale Invitational. The Pioneers started with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) win over Villanova then fell 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-14) to the host Bulldogs.

Against Villanova, SHU was able to win the key points down the stretch. The Wildcats got within 23-22 in set one, but a service error and
Jasmine Rogers' kill ended the threat. In set three, Villanova pulled to 20-19, but the Wildcats gave SHU three points on errors and
Camryn Luginbuhl produced a pair of kills.
Producing her third double-digit kill performance in a row was Luginbuhl with a match-high 11 kills. The rookie Jeffrey followed with 10 kills.
Led by
Emma Smallcomb's 14 digs, SHU had a 47-34 advantage over the Wildcats. SHU also had a .207-to-.132 hitting advantage.
Yale was able to jump out early in each set to establish a lead the Pioneers could not overcome. The hosts hit .253 to SHU's .020 and had a 46-39 advantage in digs.
