Sacred Heart Blanks Terriers 3-0

Pioneers out-hit SFC .287-to-.122

FAIRFIELD, CONN. – The offense was humming for the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team on Saturday against Saint Francis College. The Pioneer swept the weekend with a 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-19) victory over the Terriers.

Of Note:
The Pioneers hit .387 in the opening set on their way to a .287-to-.122 overall advantage. The Terriers were limited to a .000 hitting percentage in the third set.
 
SHU was also good defensively, notching 42 digs to the Terriers' 28. Libero Emma Smallcomb led the team with a match-high 15 digs.
 
The Pioneers put away set one thanks to a 5-0 run that included two Kate Anderson kills and a block. SHU was down 23-21 in the second set until three-straight kills by Camryn Luginbuhl gave SHU the lead. Anderson and Jasmine Rogers produced back-to-back winners to finish the set. The hosts made sure there was no comeback as an 8-1 run in set three gave them a lead they would not give up.
 
Luginbuhl led all players with 12 kills and hit .458. Ciszek followed with a 30-assist, 10-kill double-double. Four players had seven or more kills.
