BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team gave it all it had on the field, but came up short 1-0 against defending Northeast Conference champ LIU on Thursday.

Justin Siegel posted a season-high seven saves to reach the 100
th stop mark in his career.
The Sharks got on the board thanks to a penalty kick from Emil Jaaskelainen in the 17th minute.
Trying to get the equalizier in the second half, SHU had 11 shots to the Shark's seven. The Pioneers also led in corner kick opportunities, 5-2. The Sharks had the advantage with shots on target, 10-5.
Up next, the Pioneers travel west for a conference matchup with Saint Francis on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
