Pioneers Return Home to Take on Binghamton

SHU is back home after four consecutive road games

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fresh off a 2-1 week on the road, the Sacred Heart University men's basketball team returns home to the Pitt Center as the Pioneers welcome Binghamton University on Tuesday, November 21 at 11:30 AM.

LAST TIME OUT:
  • SHU won its second game of the UMBC Tournament, taking down Loyola (Md.), 66-51, on Saturday.
  • Tanner Thomas led Sacred Heart with 19 points, his second double-figure game of the week.
  • Alex Sobel added seven points, 10 rebounds one block, and two steals.
  • Joey Reilly had nine points, two steals, and three assists.
 
OPENING TIP:
  • Sacred Heart returns home after four games on the road and a three-game week.
  • SHU faces Binghamton for the sixth time. Binghamton holds a 1-4 advantage in series history. The Pios won the last meeting, 75-60 on the road last season.
  • The Pioneers return home after a 2-1, three-game week. SHU picked up wins over Holy Cross (84-77) and Loyola (66-51) but fell to UMBC (85-80).
  • Four Pioneers are averaging in double figures: Thomas (14.4), Nico Galette (12.2), Raheem Solomon (11.4) and Reilly (10.0). Sobel leads the team in rebounds (8.0) and Thomas is second in rebounds with 7.2 rpg.
  • Sacred Heart was selected first in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. Galette and Reilly were selected to the All-NEC preseason team. Both Galette and Reilly earned All-NEC first and third-team honors last season, respectively.
  • The team voted Galette, Reilly, and Kyle McGee to be captains of the 2023-24 squad.
