SHU Drops Road Contest At UMass Lowell 12-7

Werlau led the Pioneers with five goals

LOWELL, Mass.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team fell at UMass Lowell, 12-7, on Saturday.

Of Note
Throughout the contest, Lydia Werlau and Grace Reinold were the lone goal scorers for Sacred Heart.
 
The graduate students put the team up 2-1 seven minutes into the game. UMass Lowell would score the following six goals through the opening two quarters. Sacred Heart answered with a pair of their own including a man-down goal, bringing the Pioneers within three. The Riverhawks held a 7-4 lead at the half.
 
UMass Lowell had a strong third quarter, outscoring Sacred Heart, 4-1 taking an 11-5 lead.
 
The Pioneers put away two more in the final quarter to bring SHU within five, but it wasn't enough as the Riverhawks took the 12-7 final. 
 
Werlau led with a season-high five goals, while Reinold notched two.

Junior Ellie Holt won a career-high four draw controls. Goalkeeper Juliana Henry collected her first double-digit performance in saves with a career-high 10.
