FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team fell 13-9 on the road on Wednesday evening at Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action.
Skyler Wilde scored three goals to lead the Pioneers.

Skyler Wilde and
Carson Spooner scored back-to-back goals to give Sacred Heart an early 3-2 lead in the first quarter. Marist answered at 3:28 in the first quarter to tie it up 3-3.
Sal Miccio put away his first of the game at 14:26 to give Sacred Heart a 4-3 lead to open the second quarter. The Red Foxes scored two more to take a 5-4 lead, but Wilde would go on to score his second of the day to tie it 5-5 at 9:47. That would be the final goal of the half for the Pioneers as Marist went on to take a 9-5 lead at the half.
Morgan O'Reilly scored the opening goal of the third quarter to bring SHU within three, 9-6, but Marist again answered with two more to extend its lead, 11-5.
Jake Garb scored once more for the Pioneers in the third, but Marist held a 12-7 lead heading into the fourth.
Sacred Heart outscored Marist, 2-1 in the final quarter as SHU pulled within three, 12-9, but the Red Foxes held on to take the 13-9 final.
Nicky Casano had 15 face-off wins for Sacred Heart, while Marist had 11 total face-off wins.
