TRUMBULL, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team dropped its non-conference contest against Fairfield, 4-3, at the Tennis Club of Trumbull on Thursday.
 
The Stags clinched the doubles point to start the match.
 
Junior Katsiaryna Starastsenka won the first singles at number one to tie the match before Fairfield tallied the next two to remain in front, 3-1.
 
Junior Flavia Rambaldi picked up a victory in three sets at number six. Senior Ciara O'Toole won the tiebreaker at number five to tie the match at three all. But the Stags took number four in the end, bringing the contest to its final score.
 
Starastsenka earned her 10^th win of the season in singles. 
 
Up next, the Pioneers travel to UMass on Saturday at 1 p.m.
