VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team concluded the Villanova Invitational on Saturday with a three-set loss at the hands of Temple at the Wildcats' Jake Nevin Fieldhouse.

How It Happened:
A tight first set led to the score being tied at 4-4 after the opening eight points. Temple stormed ahead by four, 9-5, after a 5-1 run, which SHU answered with a 5-3 surge to trail by two, 12-10. An 8-2 run by the Owls gave them a 20-12 advantage, which proved too much for the Pioneers, as Temple took the first 25-15.
Temple started the second set by winning 10 of the first 15 points. The Pioneers kept the deficit to around five for the remainder of the set, ultimately falling by a 25-19 final score to go down 2--0.
Sacred Heart took the lead to open the third, winning five of the first eight points. The Owls retaliated with an 8-3 surge to go up 13-8 in the frame. Some back-and-forth play followed until Temple used a 5-1 push to go up eight, 20-12. Sacred Heart fought back to get within five, 20-15, but dropped the set, 25-16, sealing a sweep for the Owls.
Camryn Luginbuhl paced the Sacred Heart offense Saturday with 10 kills, her sixth straight match with double-digit kills. Luginbuhl also led the SHU defense with seven digs.
Dominique Felix and
Kate Anderson were second and third on the team with seven and six kills, respectively. Anderson also hit a stellar .500 on her 10 attacks, and was named to the All-Tournament Team, finishing the weekend by averaging 6.5 kills per match while swinging at a .480 clip. At setter,
Gaby Zovko assisted on 17 of the Pioneers' kills to go along with six digs.
