SHU Falls to Lehigh

Olliver Persson scored off a rebound

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to Lehigh, 2-1, in the last non-conference game of the season on Tuesday evening. Olliver Persson tallied the lone goal for the Pioneers.

Of Note:
The Pioneers tied things up in the 28th minute after picking up a deflection off David Garcia Gallego's initial shot on goal. Persson tipped the ball just over the head of Lehigh keeper, Blake Koski, for the 1-1 equalizer in the first half.
 
The Mountain Hawks got on the board in the ninth minute to take an early lead before SHU tied the game in 28th minute. Lehigh was able to score the go-ahead goal off a penalty kick in the 64th minute to take a 2-1 lead. 
 
Sacred Heart was also awarded a penalty kick in the 75th minute, but the shot was tapped out by Koski as Lehigh held on for the 2-1 final.
 
Sacred Heart tallied 12 shots, eight shots on goal, and earned four corner opportunities compared to Lehigh's 10 shots, four shots on goal, and three corners.
