MILFORD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's swim and dive team fell to Central Connecticut State to wrap up a two-day dual meet on Saturday, 262-91. Before the meet, SHU celebrated 14 graduating seniors.
Olivia McNicholas had outstanding one-meter dives to place second and break the school record with a score of 250.20.
Sophia Velleco,
Rosemery Nieto, Emma Hass and
Emma McCall started off the Pioneers by finishing second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.49.
Velleco paced the Pioneers in the 200-yard backstroke finishing second with a time of 2:07.71.
In the 100-yard butterfly,
Melanie Sanchez led the Pioneers with a time of 1:00.98 to place second. Haas was right behind her with a time of 1:01.20.
Lastly, the relay team of Haas,
Emma Davis, Ella Krickorian and Velleco finished second in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:43.66.

The Pioneers will next travel to Holy Cross on Sunday January 28 at 1:00 p.m. for a non-conference dual meet.
