HAMDEN, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team suffered a four-set loss to Quinnipiac on Sunday after taking the opening frame of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest in Hamden, Conn.
Cristina Montanez was outstanding for the Pioneers, tallying a career-high tying eight assisted blocks with seven kills, while hitting .667.
Camryn Luginbuhl led the Pioneers with 13 kills, her eight straight match with double-digit kills.

How It Happened:
After the Pioneers started the first set with a 6-3 lead, the Bobcats rallied to take the lead, 13-12. The advantage swung back and forth from there until SHU put together a 6-1 run to secure a 25-20 victory.
Allison Murray sparked the late surge with a kill and an ace.
A quick start in the second set gave Quinnipiac the momentum to take a 25-16 win, evening the contest at 1-1.
SHU was ready with an answer in the third, going up 9-3 after 12 points. The Bobcats again answered, as an 8-0 run in the middle of the frame gave the home team a 16-12 advantage. The Pioneers battled back to cut the deficit to one, 18-17, but QU held on to take the third by a 25-20 final score.
Unfortunately for the Pioneers, they could not get anything going in the fourth set, as Quinnipiac secured a 25-12 win to seal a four-set victory.
