FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team hits the road for the first time in over three weeks on Monday, Dec. 9, to play BIG EAST foe Seton Hall at 7 p.m. at the Pirates' Walsh Gymnasium.

OPENING TIP
- The Pioneers make the trip to the Garden State on Monday to play Seton Hall of the BIG EAST at 7 p.m. at the Pirates' Walsh Gymnasium.
- SHU heads into Monday's contest after tallying its most dominant win of the season on Thursday against Morgan State.
- The Pios bested the Bears by 22 points, 79-57, the team's largest margin of victory since its 32-point win, 73-41, over Merrimack in last season's NEC semifinals.
- As a team, Sacred Heart tallied season highs in points (79), rebounds (54), assists (20) and field-goal percentage (.451, 32-for-71)
- Ny'Ceara Pryor led the way for SHU's offense, pouring in a season-high 24 points, four shy of her career high of 28.
- Emma Kirby and Amelia Wood both finished with near double-doubles.
- Kirby recorded 12 points and seven rebounds, while Wood had seven points and a season-best 12 boards, one shy of her career-high.
- Nalyce Dudley also crossed double-figures with 13 points, five rebounds and a career-best four steals.
- Carmen Williams filled out the stat sheet against the Bears with eight points, six rebounds and a career-high six assists.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pioneers put together their best performance of the season in a convincing 79-57 win over Morgan State on Thursday evening at the Pitt Center. Three Pioneers crossed double-figures against the Bears, led by a season-high 24 from
Ny'Ceara Pryor.
Nalyce Dudley and
Emma Kirby also tallied 10+ with 13 and 12, respectively.
Amelia Wood and
Carmen Williams also filled out the stat sheet for SHU. Wood tallied a near double-double on seven points and 12 boards, while Williams racked up eight points, six rebounds and a career-high six assists.
SEASON HIGHS GALORE
In addition to all of the team season highs, a handful of Pios ended Thursday's game with season-best marks. Pryor, Dudley and
Esther Kursite (5) all finished with season-best scoring efforts, with Pryor's performance being helped by hitting her first 3-pointer of the year. Dudley and Williams set new career marks against the Bears, with Dudley racking up four steals and Williams dishing out six assists. Wood recorded her best performance on the glass against Morgan State with a season-high 12 rebounds.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
- The Pirates have gotten off to a strong start to the season, owning a 6-2 record heading into Monday.
- Seton Hall won the first four games of the year before suffering back-to-back defeats to Princeton and No. 6 USC.
- The Pirates have gotten their rhythm back recently after defeating both San Francisco and Howard at home in their last two contests.
- Out of Seton Hall's eight games, six were home games at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J.
- The Pirates are 5-1 at home this year.
- The Pioneers will have to have an emphasis on limiting turnovers against Seton Hall, as the Pirates lead the BIG EAST in steals per game (12.3), turnover margin (8.75) and turnovers forced per game (21.75).
- On the other side of the ball, graduate guard Amari Wright leads the conference with 5.1 assists per game.
- Graduate forward Faith Masonius has been the main recipient of Wright's many assists, as she leads the team with 18.1 points per game, with a season-high 25 coming at USC.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Pioneers will meet the Pirates for a fifth time on Monday.
- Seton Hall won the previous four meetings, the most recent being a 95-69 home triumph in the 2019 season.
