SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team concluded the first 36 holes of the Savannah Intercollegiate, hosted by SCAD at the Club at Savannah Harbor on Saturday and Sunday, in a tie for sixth place.
The Pioneers posted a 588 (+12) after carding a 299 in the first 18 holes and a 289 in the second. SHU finished tied with North Carolina Central. North Alabama holds a healthy lead in the event with a 13-under 563.
Marcus Lim led the way for the Pioneers with a three-under 141 through the first two rounds to sit in a tie for seventh. He carded an impressive seven birdies in round one, adding three more in the second.
Pablo Lacayo is tied for 18th with a one-over 145. The sophomore carded two birdies in the first round and five in round two.
Mike Rothberg and
Eoin Freeman are both tied for 36th after 36 holes at four-over 148. Rothberg was at his best with one-under 71 in round two with six birdies. Freeman was consistent with two 74s.
Jason Pelley (+13) and
Conor Handley (+14) also competed in 75th and T76th place, respectively.
The third and final round of the Savannah Intercollegiate is slated to start tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
