FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University softball team ended the 2024 regular season with a 6-0 home setback against Big East foe St. John's on Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Park.

Of Note:
The open of today's game belonged to the starting pitchers, as neither team scored until the top of the sixth inning.
Sam Kowalski started for SHU in the circle, holding the Red Storm at bay for all 4.0 innings of her appearance. She struck out five St. John's batters.
SJU's Loreley Francia was just as strong, as she allowed just one hit over 5.0 innings. The lone hit for the Pioneers came from
Jenna Mowad, a bunt single to lead off the bottom of the third.
The Red Storm's offense took over in the sixth and seventh innings, taking the game 6-0 with back-to-back three-run frames.
