SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team opened the Seton Hall Classic with a four-set loss to the host Pirates Friday on afternoon in South Orange, N.J.
Sophomore setter
Gaby Zovko tallied her second double-double of the season with a match-high 25 assists and 10 digs.
Miliani Villarreal continued the strong start to her collegiate career with 17 digs and eight assists.
On offense,
Camryn Luginbuhl and
Allison Murray led the way with 12 and eight kills, respectively .

How It Happened:
The Pioneers held the lead early on in the first set, as they were up 6-2 before the Pirates rallied to cut the margin to one, 14-13. SHU rebuilt the advantage to five, 18-13, with a 4-0 run, which Seton Hall again retaliated. The Pioneers were on the brink of winning the first at 23-21, until a 4-0 run by the home team sealed a 25-23 win for the Pirates.
Following a 25-15 loss in the second set, SHU needed a win in the third to extend the match. The score sat tied at 10-10 through the first 20 points before a 7-0 run by Seton Hall put them on the cusp of a sweep. This time the Pioneers were ready with an answer, chipping away at the lead with a 10-6 run to trail by three, 23-20. Sacred Heart rode this new momentum to a set-ending 5-0 run for a 25-23 victory.
Unfortunately for the Pios, the Pirates come out on top in a hard-fought fourth set, 25-19. SHU trailed by one, 16-15, midway through the frame before a 4-0 run by the home team clinched a 3-1 SHU defeat.
