Women's Soccer Falls to Saint Peter's on the Road, 2-1

Jersey City, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's soccer team fell to Saint Peter's 2-1 on the road Wednesday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play to wrap up the 2025 regular season.

How it Happened:
  • The Pioneers came out fast, setting the tone early in the first half. Senior forward Morgan Bovardi continued her stellar season by putting Sacred Heart on the board in the 18th minute, scoring her 11th goal of the year. Her finish came off a rebound, capping off an aggressive stretch in which Sacred Heart fired multiple shots on goal.
  • In the second half, Sacred Heart continued to push the pace offensively, controlling much of the play and creating several quality scoring chances. Then in the 76th minute, Saint Peter's took the lead. Lindsay McShea nearly tied the game for the Pioneers in the 78th minute on a penalty kick, but her attempt was saved. The Pioneers continued to apply pressure to end the game, but it wasn't enough. The Peacocks defense stood tall.
