Montgomery, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University women's cross-country team turned in a fantastic performance Saturday afternoon, finishing in third place out of 13 teams at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.
Graduate runner
Grace Sousa led the way. Sousa came in sixth place, which was good enough to earn an All-MAAC Team nod. Close behind was first-year runner Alivia Schwerbinz, who finished 12th overall to earn a spot on the All-MAAC Team. She was also named the Most Outstanding Rookie, securing a place on the MAAC All-Rookie Team

Junior
Grace Del Giorno rounded out the top 20 as she placed 20
th overall, earning good points for the Pioneers.
Adriana Franzese,
Emma Daley,
Ryann Walsh, and
Gabriella DeVito all added to the scoring as well after having strong performances.

- Schweibinz ran the fastest 6k by a first-year in program history
- Sousa ran the fastest 6k in program history
