Fairfield, Conn. – Following an impressive regular season, five members of the Sacred Heart University women's soccer team earned spots on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Conference teams.
Morgan Bovardi,
Theanna Burnett, and
Lindsay McShea were named to the All-MAAC First Team, while
Shea Kelleher and
Kyran Thievon secured All-MAAC Second Team honors.
First Team All-MAAC
Bovardi put together an unforgettable senior campaign, finishing the regular season with 24 points and four game-winning goals. She recently etched her name into the record books as Sacred Heart's all-time leader in both goals and points. Bovardi will look to carry that momentum into the postseason as the Pioneers aim for a deep tournament run.
A true anchor on the back line, Burnett led the Pioneers in minutes played and consistently shut down opposing attacks. Her defensive poise and leadership steadied the unit throughout the season. She also contributed offensively with two goals and one assist, showing her versatility on both ends of the field.
McShea enjoyed a standout year, logging over 1,400 minutes while leading the Pioneers with eight assists. Known for her precision on set pieces and ability to create scoring opportunities, McShea's vision and consistency were instrumental to Sacred Heart's offensive rhythm all season long.
Second Team All-MAAC
Kelleher delivered the best offensive season of her career, tallying eight goals and four assists in over 1,400 minutes of play. Two of her tallies proved to be game-winners, underscoring her knack for clutch performances. Her strong play helped propel the Pioneers to the No. 4 seed in the MAAC Tournament.
Between the pipes, Thievon was a steady force for Sacred Heart, posting a 10-6-1 record with six shutouts. She recorded 74 saves and maintained an impressive 0.97 goals-against average, ranking among the conference's best. Thievon will continue to be a key piece for the Pioneers as postseason play begins.
