FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to Army on Saturday evening in Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) action at the Martire Family Arena. The Pioneers held a 26-17 advantage in shots and had a few chances to break on the scoreboard, but Army's JJ Cataldo stood tall between the pipes with a 26-save effort.

How It Happened:
The Pioneers dominated the opening period, finishing with 10-3 shots on goal advantage. Not even included in those shots were the Pios' two best opportunities, as
Felix Trudeau put two shots on the post. After a couple of chances, the game went to the second scoreless.
Army took control of tonight's contest in the second period, scoring two goals. The first came on a 2-on-1 odd man rush, while the second was an impressive tip in the slot.
Sacred Heart replicated its offensive success in the third period, taking a 12-7 lead in shots on goal in the frame. Many of the chances came on three power plays. Unfortunately for the Pios, the Black Knights held SHU off the scoreboard as the Pioneers suffered its second scoreless game of the year.
In goal,
Teagan Kendrick was stellar with 15 saves. He allowed just the two second-period goals, one coming on the power play.
