LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team battled through one of the nation's premier early-season tournaments this weekend, competing in the two-day Cliff Keen Invitational inside the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
Of Note:
- Three Pioneers earned individual victories in a field loaded with nationally ranked programs and high-caliber talent.
- SHU's wins came from Chris DeLena (197 lbs), Felix Lettini (157 lbs), and John Hildebrandt (141 lbs), each picking up a hard-fought decision in the round of 32.
- DeLena's lone victory of the tournament came via a narrow 4–3 decision against Cal State Bakersfield's Angel Cervantes.
- Lettini contributed a controlled performance at 157 pounds, earning a 4–2 decision over Northern Illinois' Collin Arch.
- Hildebrandt added to the Pioneers' results with a 9–7 decision over Edinboro's Jacob Brenneman at 141 pounds.
