FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Emma Haas of the Sacred Heart University swim and dive team will be competing in the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) in Ocala, Fla., on March 13-15 at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) center.

The NIC is the largest postseason college swimming championship meet in the country, and it will bring over 60 teams and 800 competitors together to compete at FAST. Over two years, the NIC will bring over 2,000 spectators and swimmers to FAST and the great Ocala area.

Haas, a sophomore, secured a qualifying time in the 50-yard butterfly in a time trial at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship.

Haas will be competing in prelims on Thursday in the 50-yard butterfly where the top 30 return for finals. She will also time trial in events on Friday and Saturday.

Head coach, John Spadafina, is excited for this opportunity. "This is a great opportunity for Sacred Heart to be recognized at the national level and our swimmers to compete against other schools and conferences across the country," said Spadafina. "We continue to try to raise the level each year and to now to be recognized at the national level twice in one week with divers at NCAA Zones, it is a nice way to end our 2024-25 season."
