OCALA, Fla. – Sacred Heart University women's swimming & diving sophomore
Emma Haas competed in the 50 butterfly on Thursday afternoon at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) in Ocala, Fla., on March 13-15 at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) center.
Haas swam the event in a time of 25.39 to finish 45th. The West Sayville, N.Y., native has made waves for the Pios as she is the first to qualify for the NIC, two years in a row and improved upon her 50 butterfly time from last season.
The sophomore will continue to compete over the next few days in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly as time trial events which are subject to change.
The NIC is the largest postseason college swimming championship meet in the country, and will bring over 60 teams and 800 competitors together to compete at FAST. Over two years, the NIC will bring over 2,000 spectators and swimmers to FAST and the great Ocala area.
