SHU immediately responded in the second. Lead-off hitter,
Peter Link, sent a deep ball to right center, making it to third for the triple. Zach Kovalchik worked the walk next to put runners on the corners. With no outs,
Daniel Rice III secured a two-RBI double down the left field line to bring Link and Kovalchik home to make it a 2-2 game.
The Pioneers took the lead in the top of the third, 3-2. The bases were loaded with just one out as Kovalchick secured an RBI sacrifice fly to center field.
Navy immediately answered by evening the score at 3-all with a run in the bottom of the third.
Unfortunately for the Pioneers, the Midshipman held SHU scoreless after the third. On the other hand, Navy added an additional seven runs through five innings to secure an 11-3 win.
