How it Happened
The Bobcats wasted no time getting on the board, as Sean McCulloch launched a solo home run down the left field line in the game's very first at-bat.

After a stretch of quiet innings, the Pioneers broke through in the bottom of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. With one out, JW Fitzgerald singled to right, setting the table. A fielder's choice allowed Zack Kovalchik to reach, while a fielding error kept Fitzgerald safe at second. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, and Fitzgerald came around to score on a throwing error to third by the catcher. Joe Cilea followed with a single up the middle to drive in Kovalchik.

The Bobcats responded quickly, capitalizing on Pioneer miscues to plate three unearned runs and retake the lead.

Alex Ungar's RBI double in the bottom of the eighth brought the Pioneers within one, but it wasn't enough, as the Bobcats held on for the 4-3 win.

Up Next
The Pioneers will face the Bobcats again for game two at Veteran's Park tomorrow at 2 p.m.
