How it Happened:
Marist came out aggressive and ready to strike. Within the first 10 minutes, the Red Foxes fired three shots at goalkeeper Kyran Thievon, but strong defending and goalkeeping kept the game scoreless.

As the first half progressed, both sides applied pressure. Sacred Heart nearly broke through on a free kick just outside the box. In the 30th minute, Marist capitalized on their pressure, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The second half opened much like the first, with Marist again pushing forward and testing the Pioneers' defense with three shots, two of them on target, in the opening 10 minutes. Sacred Heart's best chance came in the 65th minute when Rylee McGee barely missed the back of the net.

Momentum finally swung in the 74th minute, when Theanna Burnett netted her first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

The Pioneers continued to pressure, but Marist regained control late. In the 85th minute, the Red Foxes struck once more to reclaim the lead, sealing a 2-1 victory.
