How It Happened:
The Pioneers dropped the first set 25-19, but bounced back in a huge way in the second set. SHU won the frame, 25-6, starting with a 15-3 run before ending with a 10-3 surge. SHU hit an outstanding .500 in the set, with 11 kills and one error.

Sacred Heart and Merrimack traded points to start the third set, with the Warriors building a 16-12 advantage after a 3-0 run. The Pios drew the score close with a 3-0 run of their own to get to 19-17, but back-and-forth play from there settled a 25-22 win for the Warriors.

A 6-1 start for the Warriors put SHU on its heels in the fourth, but the Pios fought back with 9-4 run to even the score at 10-all. Merrimack went on to score 11 of the next 17 points to storm ahead 21-16. A five-point cushion was enough for the Warriors to hold on and secure a 25-20 victory.
