Sacred Heart University

Charlie Tortorici is the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance at Sacred Heart University. He returned to SHU in August of 2022 as the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance before receiving the promotion to Senior Associate in January 2024.
 
In his current role, he oversees the athletic compliance department and all NCAA compliance efforts for SHU. His day-to-day responsibilities include managing athletic scholarships, monitoring and verifying eligibility for student-athletes, and educating staff and student-athletes on NCAA and NIL legislation. In addition, as part of his sport administrative duties, he oversees the field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams.
 
Prior to returning to SHU, Tortorici spent two years as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Quinnipiac University. He got his start in college athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside as a compliance and game day operations intern. He went on to become the Compliance Coordinator at Oakland University before joining the Pioneers in August of 2018 as the Director of Compliance.
 
Tortorici graduated from Marquette University Law School (2017), where he earned his J.D., Sports Law Certificate, and Litigation Certificate. He earned his BS in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2013.
